What are anti-wrinkle injectables?
Anti-wrinkle injectables are a purified protein, which is injected into the muscle. This allows the muscle to be temporarily relax, which can help to soften facial expressions and improve the signs of ageing.
We can use anti-wrinkle injections to soften:
- Frown lines: the area between your eyebrows
- Forehead lines: the horizontal lines that appear above your frown line.
- Crow’s feet: which are the lines you see when you smile around the eyes.
- Jowl: we can help tighten the jowl area along your jaw line.
The product usually takes 2-3 days to begin working, with full effect after 2-3 weeks.
There is minimal downtime and any reactions are usually minimal and temporary.
You may experience some redness and bruising at the site of the injection.
Other rare but possible side effects can be found in the patient information leaflet provided, but if you are concerned please feel free to contact us.
Before treatment any make up will be removed and the area will be cleansed.
The treatment time is approximately 30 minutes and you do not need and anesthetic.
You can go about your daily activities immediately.
The treatment will last 3-4 months depending on the strength of your muscles and your individual response.
We do advise that you avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, and alcohol the day of the injections. A full postoperative instructions leaflet will be provided at your appointment.
You will be required to attend a review appointment three weeks post treatment, when any slight adjustments can be made if necessary.
